Two sisters vacationing in Mexico take on the adventure of a shark cage with disastrous results, as they become trapped on the ocean floor surrounded by predators. ’47 Meters Down’ is a surprisingly decent thriller that had me jumping on numerous occasions. Made short enough to keep you absorbed and heart racing for the most part, Mandy Moore and Claire Holt give an unexpectedly believable performance, with more realistic bravery than other similar movies such as Blake Lively’s ‘The Shallows’. Kudos for the ending I didn’t see coming, however it appeared cut short given the amount of personal entanglements they had worked into the beginning of the plot. Definitely worth the watch for anyone that enjoys a slight thrill – but perhaps avoid this one if you plan on getting in the cage yourself in the near future.
